Was JFK right in asking stating…”it is not what the country can do for you, but what you can do…..?
I think his quote is promoting capitalism and greed. The country actually supplies us with shelter (once we build a home from wood), food (plants, animals..etc..) and clothing (cotton, leather…etc.). Why should an individual do something for “their country” if we were put on earth without our consent to do something against our will, for the most part. Its even written in the bible that man should take advantage of nature and of what it has to offer. Reaction please!!!
I agree with him, I want people to be able to depend on me, not me depending on other people. I want to make something of myself.
This is a long question about animal shelters ill write it below?
Which one of these animal shelters lets you adopt a dog and gives you a 2 week test drive when you adopt ia dog, World Society for the Protection of Animals, Humane Society of Canada, Ark II the Animal Rights Kollective and Animal Alliance of Canada they are all in Toronto, Ontario, Canada Thanks and HELP!!!
The best way to figure this out is to call them and ask. You don’t have to provide your name or anything, just ask if they have a policy about returning animals that don’t fit in with your household.
It seems like most animal rights activists want to eradicate human life from the planet, and let the monkeys swing from their banana trees. Why do they hate humanity so much, even though it has provided so much comfort to their lives? (or why would they rather have a human die than a slug?)
Population control? So your saying animal rights activists are population control? Like war or plague?
They have their point of view, skewed as it is, because of what they believe.
Going to the Dogs
In post-Taleban Afghanistan, illegal dog-fighting attracts rich and poor and high-stakes gambling is rife. Killing cats and Animal rights in Islam(Short example)
Why are tenants so disrespectful of property rights?
I just read another poster who does not give a damn about agreements and basic respect for other people and there property.
Another animal in a pet free unit.
I am just curious what these type of people are thinking. Aside from being dishonest, this is just so invasive of the property owners rights.
I just can’t picture myself being so disrespectful to others, I have a hard time fathoming why others feel they have the right to abuse others peoples rights.
The school of psychology known as Process Communication [PCM] has identified six fundamental human behavior sets [or personality types].
At any given time, PCM has shown that about 1/6th of all Americans [the proportion differs in other societies, which suggests that society exerts a significant influence on personality], have a personality type which offers little or no respect for others some or most of the time.
Alas, absent fundamental and very, very powerful psychology work, the individual is not able to choose his or her personality type. They’re stuck with it until major [and very upsetting] life events occur.
These people can and will violate all of your rules and the agreements they’ve signed when the circumstances arise that impel their personality to do so. About all you, as a landlord or other property owner, can do is demand the maximum security deposit your state allows and inspect, inspect, inspect to discover which of your tenants need to be evicted.
My advice is to evict when you discover any violation. No exceptions, no excuses. Join a landlords group and exchange names of problem tenants. Refuse to rent to people other landlords have identified as problems. [This is just cause under the law.]
Even if you are capable of identifying a problem tenant from his or her behaviors in advance, if you refuse to rent to anyone who has any shred of a case that you refused for any other reason [discrimination, for example], it is very difficult to win the resulting lawsuit — you’d need a psych expert’s testimony [and her or his fee] and the other side will counter with a different expert from a different branch of psychology who says you can’t successfully predict.
Not to mention that, as you’ve probably discovered already, there’s another and potentially larger group of Americans who will cause damage or lease violations after their new boyfriend/girlfriend moves in and that person [who isn't on the lease] proves to be an agreement violator.
As you’ve guessed by now, these personalities do not disappear from humanity because they do have an evolutionarily useful role in the overall scheme of things. To greater or lesser extent, they exist in all societies.
Of course, our permissive of irresponsibility American society contributes significantly to maintaining these people. Less permissive societies have fewer [proportionately] than we do. [But they still exist.]
Madrid, Spain ranks third in population amongst cities in Europe, and is the largest city in Spain. It’s size, however, doesn’t seem to stop thousands of tourists from visiting the city every year. That’s probably because Madrid offers an incredible variety of attractions ranging from classical music venues to hopping night clubs.
Because of its location on the Manzanares River, Madrid has been home to people since pre-historic times. However, the city’s documented history begins in the 9th century when a small palace was built on the present day site of the Palacio Real. The palace was built under orders from Muhammad I. The Muslims living in the area at the time called the Manzanares “al-Majrit,” which means “source of water.” As a result, the region was named Majerit, which later became Madrid.
Today Madrid is one of the most popular destinations for travelers to Spain. It’s best known for the large number of monuments and cultural attractions. Madrid is also considered among the best cities in Europe for touring art museums. Along the Paseo del Prado sit three popular museums that are endowed by the Golden Triangle of Art.
The Prado Museum is the most well-known of the three Golden Triangle museums. It contains Diego Velazquez’s “Las Meninas” and Francisco de Goya’s “La maja vestida” and “La maja desnuda.” The Thyssen Bornemisza Museum is another of the Golden Triangle museums, and is comprised of art from a mixed private collection. The third museum, the Reina Sofia Museum, holds Pablo Picasso’s “Guernica.”
In addition to its many museums, Madrid also has a number of other attractions that are popular with tourists. Among them are the enormous Royal Palace of Madrid, the Teatro Real (also called the Royal Theater) and its refurbished 1850 Opera House, and the National Library building, which was established in 1712 and holds many of Spain’s historical archives.
After spending a busy day touring Madrid’s many sites, tourists can also take part in the exciting nightlife the city offers. Madrid is very well known in Europe for its wild nightlife and numerous night clubs. It’s not at all uncommon for the young people of Madrid to spend an entire night dancing then, without sleeping, shower and report to their places of employment.
Another big draw for Madrid is its bullfighting season. The season begins in March and ends in October. During the San Isidro festivities, bullfights take place every day from mid-March to the end of June. Then, for the remainder of the season, bullfights are held every Sunday as well as on public holidays.
Although Madrid attracts thousands of tourists, it is well equipped to comfortably accommodate them all. There are a number of beautiful places to stay, including both hotels and holiday apartments.
One of the nicest things about locating vacation accommodations in Madrid is that you’re not limited to an area with only a certain type of attraction. There are several hotels and holiday apartments centrally located to cultural attractions as well as shopping and nightlife.

Visitors are usually drawn to vacations in La Manga because of the beaches and endless sunshine. The unique land formation of the La Manga strip has become a Mecca for tourists. There is more to La Manga and the Mar Menor region than sand and surf, though. The area is rich in history and culture. Tourists who embark on vacations in La Manga can’t help but soak up the culture along with the sunshine.
The resort area of La Manga Del Mar Menor is located at the southern tip of the Costa Blanca. It consists of a 22 kilometer strip of land which separates part of mainland coastal Spain from the Mediterranean Sea. The result of this unique land formation is Mar Menor, Europe’s biggest saltwater lake. At its deepest, it reaches a mere eight meters, making it warm year round. In fact, it can reach a temperature of 30 degrees in August at the height of summer. A typical vacation in La Manga usually consists of ample time swimming the azure blue waters while participating in water sports. Mar Menor is home to some of the world’s best kite-surfing, sailing, snorkeling, scuba-diving and windsurfing.
The history of La Manga Del Mar Menor is as rich as its terrain and natural resources. It was likely first inhabited by the ancient Romans, as indicated by remains and artifacts discovered there. The Romans highly valued the Mar Menor for its salt content. They eventually developed a lucrative salt-mining industry. Today, its salt is still mined and sold around the world. It is used to season regional cuisine, and its flavor is second to none.
Today’s La Manga is a mix of modern architecture and old-world flair. It offers tourists the best of city amenities like shopping, dining and dancing. At a closer look, its ancient history is still evident in its older buildings.
A vacation in La Manga means that tourists are strategically located near other rich historical areas. Two in particular, Cartagena and Murcia, are well worth the half day’s drive from La Manga Del Mar Menor. Both have distinctive cultures and are significant cities in Spain’s history.
Murcia is the capital city of the region of Murcia. It rests in a low-lying and fertile plain famous for its vineyards. It is known for its production of fine wine. Murcia is actually home to three different denominations of origin for wine: Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla.
Visitors can tour one of its many wineries and sample some of Murcia’s best vintages. It is also a renowned bullfighting city. Visitors can learn more about bullfighting history at the Bullfighting Museum of Murcia. Cap the visit off by taking in a bullfight for a truly authentic experience. Murcia is also home to centuries-old cathedrals and plazas for further exploration of the city’s history.
Cartagena’s history is largely centered around its longstanding naval port. It is home to the Naval Museum as well as the famous National Museum for Underwater Archeology.
An abundance of ancient ruins have been uncovered in Cartagena. They attest to its military significance, as well as its importance as a port. Some of these ruins can be viewed close up. Many artifacts are housed in several of Cartagena’s history museums.
A vacation in La Manga is an ideal way to combine the best in relaxation and cultural education. Perhaps this is why so many who vacation in La Manga return year after year.

Why You Better Pay Attention to 2005 Median Wages!
You’ve probably read about recent wages statistics. Why are they important for you?
Well, for one they, they give you a sense as to whether or not you’re getting ahead. You see, if you’re not advancing in terms of your compensation . . . you’re going backwards!
The reason for that is that, on the one hand, the economy is growing. On the other hand, so is inflation. The cost of what you pay for things is going up. So to stay ahead you have to be in a position where you can command more money.
Sometimes you’re in an employment where the cost of living increases in your wages is handled, say, by a union contract or some other kind of built-in mechanism. But if that’s not the case for you, then it’s up to you to something about your own welfare.
So, take a look at typical weekly median wages for 2005 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. See where you fit it.

Here are the steps you need to take to assure you can get ahead in your current job:
1. Do your homework before you do anything. What have others in your organization done to get a salary increase? What is the basis your boss uses for compensation hikes? . . . performance? . . . creativity? . . . friendship?
2. Ask your boss what you can do to make yourself more valuable to the company. And ask him/her during a routine performance review. NEVER ask for a raise. Instead, ask how you can make a larger contribution.
3. Be prepared to demonstrate your accomplishments and contributions. And do it very specifically by the numbers. I mean by that you should quantify your results by showing dollars generated, percentage growth, savings, etc.
4. Work out some practical suggestions for improvement or bring to the table some new ideas. Write down your ideas in a presentation that you can leave behind for your boss to review.
5. Look for opportunities to take on responsibilities that go beyond your current job description. Gain more visibility by taking additional training, or signing up for in-house seminars. Make sure your boss knows about these career expanding activities.
6. Most importantly, take the time to generate chemistry and rapport with superiors. This does NOT mean buttering up your boss or paying unwelcome compliments. It does mean asking advice, being available to help out, looking for opportunities to take on an extra assignment or pitch in.
You’re in charge of your own future. The good news is there are proven strategies that can significantly help you get ahead. They’re all part of the exciting alternative job search and non-traditional career advancement movement. Check it out!
