Pamela Anderson: Superstar, Sex Symbol, Animal-rights Advocate And…. Real Estate Developer

“The Most Powerful Canadian in Hollywood”, Pamela Anderson, is embarking on an exciting residential waterfront development in her hometown of Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The project has been at least a year in the making, but the initial development plans have now been laid for the Ladysmith waterfront property. So far the scope of the development involves 72 condominiums in three separate buildings, and 11 townhouses in three other buildings. There are also plans for moorage and a marina that’ll house up to 18 boats owned by development residents. Originally the design was zoned for commercial use, but plans have since changed and the complex is set to be purely residential.

Pamela has teamed up with developer and ex-hockey player Geoff Courtnell to develop the project on what used to be Anderson’s grandparents’ property in Ladysmith. The project aims to lead as an example for smart development in the small town of Ladysmith, in terms of planning and green building standards. Environmentally friendly features will include geothermal heat exchange, pavement that is water-permeable and a re-circulating pond and stream to prevent heavy runoff. There is also a green roof plan and a storm-water management plan in place. Other environmental considerations include the planning team’s concerted effort to minimize the building’s footprint on the area. The density proposed for the site will be much less than what is currently permitted under the town’s zoning. Anderson plans to save many of the established fir and arbutus trees on the site, creating a green buffer from any potential highway noise. The focus will be on clearing only the trees that obstruct the incredible ocean views.

The particular property that is scheduled to be developed is a five acre chuck of land that was a holiday cottage business, run by Anderson’s grandparents. It overlooks the ocean and is close to a well-established neighborhood built up above an estuary. The units will change in size from 1,200 to 1,500 square feet and prices for the units have yet to be determined.

Ladysmith is a Vancouver Island town with an ever-growing population of 7,000 + residents. Named by Harrowsmith magazine as “one of the prettiest towns in Canada”, Ladysmith has a unique geographic location, perched up on a hill side, overlooking the spectacular eastern shores of beautiful Vancouver Island. The town is ideal for exploring the awesome beauty and charm of the near-by Gulf Islands by boat or kayak. Other great activities that are easily accessible include, hiking in the rugged backcountry, swimming, biking, or visiting the Cowichan Valley’s excellent restaurants and bourgeoning wineries.

Ladysmith is on the cutting edge of environmental programming and boasts an award-winning recycling program. Famous for it’s annual Festival of Lights, Paddlefest and Arts on the Avenue, Ladysmith BC is a spirited community that won’t be a best kept secret for much longer–. especially now that superstar Pamela Anderson is raising its profile with this enticing, new, waterfront development. Keep you’re eye on on this one, good things come in small packages – and from small, beautiful and undiscovered places.

catalonia bullfighting ban

catalonia bullfighting ban
Why is Catalonia banning bullfighting? It’s just a cow, right? You could maybe cook & eat it afterward :) ?

Maybe I should try to answer the question.

The bullfight ban has a lot to do with Catalan nationalism.
During Franco’s time. Paco encouraged loads of Andalusian to move to Barcelona to work. His plan was to water down the Catalan culture.
At that time, bullfighting was popular in Barcelona (two bull rings says it all) and most of the so-called. “immigrants” were aficionados.

With autonomy, the Catalans want to flex their muscles and banning bullfighting is anti Andalusia / Spain and politically correct, so it is a great opportunity to piss-off Madrid.

I doubt that a full ban will be achieved because there are bull breeding farms in Catalonia, the traditional “correbou”s are a form of bullfighting; and in such hard times one must compensate people fully for destroying their livelihood.

To say that bull fighting is not Catalan is not true. It has been done in French Catalonia since the beginning of time.

Many people do feel that bull fighting should be banned because it is cruel. That is another matter.

Pedantic point. “Cow” can include animals of both sexes. e.g. Cowboy, Vaquero. There are also cow fights for tourists and learners.

“The cow is of the bovine ilk,
One end is moo, the other milk.”

A vaccine against the conservative Calendar for concerned parents

After months of introspection and unsuccessful attempts to obtain information my pediatrician, I decided to do research on vaccines and the risks to my newborn baby. It is difficult to understand why my old record of immunizations after 1974 there were only seven seals vaccine, but my pediatrician wanted to give my newborn over 40 vaccines over the next four years.

The medical community recommends at least four vaccinations against polio, six vaccines against hepatitis B, five DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), so least two MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), two influenza vaccines, three PCV vaccinations, three Hib vaccines, and at least two Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine and two against hepatitis A. Overall, an average of more than 40 vaccines before the age of two years.

Another medical communities have chosen to recognize the potential dangers of vaccines. For example, in the 1990s, over vaccination has been definitively linked to canerous tumors in domestic cats and dogs. At that time, I worked for a veterinary office, and doctors were very concerned about the health of their animal patients. Decided within a month, to change its vaccine recommendations for a more conservative treatment, although this would reduce revenue. The health and welfare of their customers was more important than the possible loss of benefits. Is unfortunate that the medical man can not reach a similar consensus on the vaccination of infants. Until then, the responsibility of parents to learn about vaccines and their risks and take appropriate decisions.

Why the medical community has found it necessary to vaccinate a newborn child over 40 times, when there is only thirty-eight vaccines seemed an acceptable number? And while the medical community refuses to vaccines with autism or attention deficit Hyperactivity, it is very difficult to reconcile the fact that rates of reaction to the vaccine autism have skyrocketed in the last twenty years.

Thus that, using my experience in teaching and research, I have built a more conservative program of vaccinations for my child based on risk factors. As a parent, I do everything possible to protect my son's illness, and possible effects of any medication or other treatment.

Many of the vaccines administered children seem ridiculous and unnecessary, and no risks outweigh the benefits. For example, vaccination against tetanus is routinely given to children, even if the risk to children this disease is minimal. Tetanus is usually transmitted through urine or feces of an animal in an external object like a nail oxidized. When an object enters the body, the blood is contaminated with the toxin.

Now remember that a vaccine against tetanus as a teenager, after enter my hand on a rusty hook. My father grunted, looked at the wound, and took me to hospital for a shot. My father received his first vaccine against tetanus in quarantine, after stepping on a rusty nail while clearing.

Thus, if the toxin enters the bloodstream through a puncture wound, Why the medical community insists newborn vaccination against this disease, especially if she can not walk and probably have no contact sharp objects, objects outdoors and much less messy that can be covered with animal urine and feces?

Less than 50 cases of tetanus are reported annually in the United States. What is the chance that your child will be the tetanus in their lives of one in 220 million. Compare this with the possible risk of autism, that is one in 220 … period.

Now, another vaccine that appears risky is the vaccine against chickenpox, which is the chickenpox vaccine. This disease affects slightly thousands of children each, the year and usually results in dozens of button-type wounds itching, slight fever, and two weeks at home with Mom. As children, my brother and I had the chicken pox, and has a small scar on his cheek as a result. Lifelong immunity after chickenpox Shingles is also come with Bout Children with this disease.

Varicella (chickenpox) is a case where the dangers of the vaccine is almost certainly outweigh the benefits. A child with chickenpox is a disadvantage deliciously bad mood for working parents for two weeks. A child with a brain injury from a vaccine reaction is a debilitating problem for life.

The flu vaccine is recommended only for children with obvious risk factors, such as heart disease, sickle cell anemia, HIV or diabetes. However, most doctors insist on vaccinating healthy children against influenza. Again, a child with "influenza" is a major drawback for parents who work for two weeks. And once again, a child with a brain injury from a vaccine reaction is a debilitating problem for life.

Safety of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) is controversial. In a recent press conference, reporters asked UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, if your young child vaccinated with MMR, and refused to answer. While I believe that vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella is necessary, do not believe that these vaccines should be administered in combination. Especially since, in a combination vaccine, it is impossible to determine which of the three vaccines cause a serious vaccine reaction if it happens.

Hepatitis B is another, which is routinely given to children, even newborns have virtually no risk of contracting disease. This disease affects about 320,000 Americans a year and is transmitted mainly through sexual contact and drug intravenously. The vaccine is recommended for gay men, drug users, and any persons working in the medical field. Newborn falls under these categories of risk? No? I think not.

Here are my recommendations, the recommendations of a mother concerned.

1. Try asking some vaccines. Vaccine Combo Decline. Pay extra if you need. Worth.

2. Ask the vaccines that are "lifted" in front of you. Ensure that the vaccine vial is a single dose (the bottle must be very small, about the size of a Brazil nut). If the bottle is large, a multiple dose vial, refuse the vaccine immediately and not return to that doctor! Multidose vials are cheaper, and they contain a deadly May thermerisol conservative on the mercury-based preservative that is poisonous to the real man. Although manufacturers vaccine voluntarily stopped adding mercury in vaccines, these vaccines are not illegal, and nobody knows how many thousands of bottles are still on the shelves of doctor.

3. Remove all necessary vaccinations. Unless your child has risk factors for actual decline that vaccines are not necessary. I choose not to vaccinate my child against varicella, influenza, hepatitis B or tetanus. I have most of these vaccines in my teens, and I can easily survive in chicken soup (and the love a parent) to Through my battle with childhood chickenpox.

4. They only allow a vaccine and office visits. Their protest pediatrician in May, but I assure you that most doctors do not vaccinate their own babies with nine vaccines at once. If you allow one shot at a time, you can follow all the possible reactions.

5. Having an anti-inflammatory useful if your child has a reaction. Ask your doctor about the safest (probably infant Tylenol) and be ready just in case. If your child has a reaction, such as fever, give anti-inflammatory and lead to emergency care. Do not worry if you think you're exaggerating. Who cares what think? Protecting your child's health at any price.

6. If there is no way you can stay home with their newborn the first six months, and expose to risk factors such as attention as possible (day, other sick children, etc), try to delay vaccination until your baby is at least six months. Huge amounts of brain development occurs at the moment, and what you can do to protect your child against the possible response of vaccines and diseases is a good thing. Beg, borrow, steal, use credit cards, whatever! Protect your child's future!

7. And last but not least, confidence in your instincts. If you feel that your baby reacts normally vaccines, ask your doctor, and if you get a condescending response, find another doctor.

As parents we all want is best for our children. You are the final arbiter of your child's health and welfare, and can delay the response, better than. You have the option to vaccinate their child conservatively, and there are risks with any vaccine, and also the risks if they choose not to vaccinate.

However, if you are interested, not forget that many childhood diseases like chickenpox, influenza, measles, and even rarely fatal. However, severe autism can be a death sentence "for lifetime. Consider your options, do research and make Trust your heart, like a loving father.

Cruelty to animals! Are you kidding? Going too far?

Just read an article about the TV show in court Australia to kill a rat and toasted (see link below). Do you have to be kidding. I support animal rights (to an extent), but to say that killing a rat is a cruel spectacle is simply too far. We kill each other mercilessly as they are animals.
