I'm writing an article on social justice for the class and I would choose the animal rights or welfare my theme. What are the subtopics that I can talk a lot of facts and research available?

Children should be educated on our planet and all life forms that inhabit the earth. Teach a child to the millions of species of animals that exist in this world, half of them in tropical forests, is a good thing. This article about endangered animals extinguishing forest to cover your children know some of these endangered animals to educate children. Because our children are the future of our country, teaching them is our duty.
Children should be informed that most endangered animals and is caused by human activities. There are many activists that animal rights are bravely to save the endangered species and to stop, but it's a long, hard battle. Tropical forests are under constant threat and save the rain forest is to save animals that inhabit the forest. Tropical forests are considered the largest pharmacy because of the nature natural drug many found there.

Gorilla – Located in west-central African tropical forests of Zaire and Rwanda are in danger of being destroyed by habitat loss and persecution as meat wildlife. The Ebola virus has already caused considerable damage to the gorilla population.
Golden lion tamarin – it is probably one of the most threatened of all jungle animals and is almost extinct. The skin of these animals is extremely valuable and can fetch up to $ 20,000 on the black market. Their numbers have declined and some species are found in the jungles of Brazil.
Jaguar – one of the most elegant of all the beasts of prey, this magnificent animal is in the list of endangered species. Hunting prohibited, even though most of the countries continue to drive as close to the extinction of species along the years.
Bengal Tiger – There are only about 4,000 of these animals left in the nature of the Sundarbans, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, China and Siberia. Most of us know, and as the orangutan and it is sad to know that these beautiful creatures with orange hair brushes are on the endangered species list. The destruction and loss of habitat and poaching associated with being banished as exotic species have led to lower staff.
This list is just the beginning of the forest a long list of endangered animals so that their children know. Encourage to visit as many sites as possible to learn and be motivated to teach to save the endangered animals.

…I was thinking about that just yesterday, when in a slightly different context, I was considering the various types of Bull that bull fighters fight. Certainly, I would look at the upcoming event in China with a bit of scepticism. While I am sure that the promoters are interested in the sport, it is obvious that the politicians are looking at this event from a very different perspective. There is a lot of Bull out there about Taiwan and Tibet that is being tossed into the Bull about construction schedules and air pollution. For now, it appears the only real Bull Fighters out there are a group of anonymous, dissadent Tibetian monks, who are getting mauled by the Chinese army and the Chinese politicians. Within the next few months, we may see fishermen from Taiwan enter the ring. Who knows. this bull fight could spill over and make Iraq look like a cakewalk. I hope not. As for Australia, we have enough politicos working us over that we do not lack for entertainment. Look at your local hospital. Are there enough docs? LOL. What happens when a foriegn trained doc wants to come to Australia? Well, that depends. If the doc is trained in the British commonwealth, he is welcomed with open arms, granted his license, and put to work. He may be a terrorist in disguise, but tough. He may be a death doc, but so what? When a doc from a non-commonwealth background applies, he is tested, inspected, retested, and, if he is still interested in coming to Australia, he will be expected to either take a job sight unseen, or pay his own way for an interview and a site visit. A bit of a double standard here, I would think. And that is a lot of Bull. You and I have trouble getting in to see our GP because the polies and the beaurocrats are too busy shuffling paper to get their job done. We have plenty of Bulls to fight here already.
Let’s take a look at a more successful Bull Fight. Our polies want to strip carer funds from the budgeet to “save money”. This is a lot of Bull. But, to their credit, our friends and neighbors stood up to the polies, and the carer fees have been salvaged for this year. (More fight ahead, that is for certain!) The stipend is obscenely small. Without it, some of our seniors, instead of “costing society” 1500 a year to live in their own home or a carers home will cost society 30 000 or more to live in a nursing home or hospice. Rise to the fight. Ole’

no pros what so ever. cons: way too many to list. bottom line-the bulls die. if you are an animal lover…i advise you not to go. mu cousin saw one and cried like a baby. they are so inhumane and awful.

I’m doing a research paper on animal rights and i found this
“The Old Testament forbids the deliberate, willful, sadistic, deviant, purposeless, intentional and unnecessary infliction of pain and suffering on animals, or outrageous neglect on them”
Can someone tell me what verse says that? And does this actually apply to slaughter houses? Slaughter houses do treat animals inhumanely, but in that it says “purposeless” but slaughter houses’ purpose is to give people food, but there are better ways to do it. i think it applies but please give me your opinion. But the most important thing i need is the verse that the statement is coming from.
i didnt really think that the bible drew the line at animal abuse because i dont really know alot about religions. i just needed to know if it was in the bible at all so that it would help my research paper.
Uh… that’s a crock of bullsh*t, sorry. Plain and simple. The Old Testament demanded blood sacrifices from goats and even cattle to “wash away” people’s sins. In other words, it was senseless slaughter. It also states that man was given dominion over the animals from god, to do with as he pleases. It gives a nice, long list of animals which should be eatten as food. How could you even think, for one minute that a book that supports slavery, sexism, racism, and the murder of members of differing religions would draw the line at animal abuse?
EDIT – Well, I haven’t opened the bible in a long time, but it really doesn’t sound familiar at all. Although there are many contradictions within it, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising. But I really doubt it is, considering the views of the times when it was written.

Ok. We vegans try to save the poor animals that get killed everyday..so we stop consuming meat and “save” animals and land that is used for grazing right? than why the soybean industry is destroying the amazons a place where many animals live??? I saw a documentary and the soybean industry is using more and more land …we consume soybeans..a lot! right? then we are saving “some” animals while we kill others….and destroy land….am right or wrong?? opinions please!!!
You’re doing a fantastic thing by stopping your consumption of animal products. The fact is vegetarians/vegans consume a lot of soybeans and other plant foods. All these things require agriculture, which in all senses is bad for the land. but this is a fact we cannot change. We have to eat, even though it is destroying forests. The fact is though that most of the agriculture causing this destruction is due to the fact that so many people consume meat and it is in high demand. So most of our agriculture goes to raising the cattle and other animals to feed our country. “A steer consumes seven pounds of protein in the form of grain and soybeans to produce just one Pound of beef protein.” (from the book The vegetarian Way, great book!) So part of the soybean epidemic is due to the fact that we have to feed such a large amount of it to cattle to produce beef protein, AND in the process six pounds of high-quality protein is lost.
so in conclusion, yes, agriculture and the production of soybeans is destructive to the land, but by stopping your consumption of animal products you are slowing down the process.

No Animal Rights Reasons?
I’m in Debate class and the question being asked is…
“Should animals have rights?”
My teacher pre-selected the teams, and I’m on the side that believes animals shouldn’t have rights. What are some reasons that support my side?
The seperation between animals and humans is curiosity. By that I mean the innovative spark that drives people.
If an animal is fed and comfortable, it is content. (*GASP* Socialism?)
Humankind has used its mind to not be content, but excell.
Can animals create vaccines? Can they travel to the moon? Can they contribute scientific advances?
*Sounds harsh, but its gotta be one sided >.<*
